Receiving is where stock accuracy is won or lost. A delivery arrives, someone counts it against a paper sheet, and someone else keys the numbers into Shopify an hour later. Two of those three steps can go wrong, and the store does not find out until a customer orders something that is not there.

PLACEHOLDER replaces the paper sheet and the keying. You open the purchase order on a phone, scan what comes out of the box, and Shopify stock goes up as you go. What is short, over or damaged is on screen before the driver leaves.

    Open the purchase order

    Pick the order the delivery belongs to. Everything Shopify already knows about it is there, so nothing is keyed in twice.

    Scan the boxes

    Scan each item as it comes out of the box. The count goes up on screen and stays put if the signal drops.

  3. Schritt 3

    Close it off

    Check the variance list, add a note on anything short or damaged, then finish. Shopify stock updates as you do.

FAQ

Häufige Fragen

Do I need a barcode scanner to use this?

No. The phone camera works out of the box and reads most retail barcodes fine. A Bluetooth scanner is faster once you are doing more than about fifty items a delivery, and any scanner that works as a keyboard will pair with the app.

What happens if the Wi-Fi drops in the middle of a delivery?

Scanning carries on. Each scan is saved on the phone and sent to Shopify when the connection comes back. You will see a small counter of scans waiting to sync, and the app will not let you close an order until they have all landed.

Does it work with Shopify POS and other inventory apps?

Yes. Stock is written through Shopify's own inventory API, so anything reading Shopify stock levels sees the change straight away, including Shopify POS. We do not keep a separate stock number of our own.

What if a supplier sends more than we ordered?

You can receive over the ordered quantity, and the line is flagged as an overage in the variance list. Nothing is blocked, because arguing with a delivery driver about an app is not a good use of anyone's morning.

Can I undo a mistake?

Yes. Any scan can be removed before the order is closed, and a closed order can be reopened for seven days. Every change is kept in the audit trail with the name of the person who made it.

How long does setup take?

About four minutes. Install from the Shopify App Store, pick which locations you receive into, and scan a test barcode. There is no data import and nothing to configure first.
